I never knew I had this in me—once I started drawing, I couldn’t put the paintbrush down.

About
The HEART Project was born to be more than a program—it’s a creative refuge where healing begins, confidence grows, and young voices find their strength through art.
Since its launch in October 2024 at Farragut Career Academy in La Villita, Chicago, The HEART Project is an innovative mentorship program dedicated to healing and improving the mental health and empowerment of youth through the arts. The HEART Project not only creates a safe space for youth to connect with a mentor, but also cultivates confidence towards their own healing and personal goals.
Our mentors meet with youth weekly to work on art projects, providing a dedicated time and space for youth to share their aspirations, needs, and personal challenges. Using our innovative curriculum, we provide a space for youth to share about themselves, connect with their mentors, and build a Beloved Community through the development of their own healing heart.
In addition to mentoring youth, The HEART Project collaborates with New Life Centers’ grief group leading art sessions and guided discussions to bring hope and healing.
We are deeply grateful to Farragut Career Academy for the opportunity to collaborate with your exceptional students. We also congratulate our participants for reaching this significant achievement with dedication and excellence.
